Huckabee hardly had an agenda of railing against the Club for Growth.
They just attacked him -- and he defended himself.

I think the larger problem with the "conservative movement" etc is that the various factions (with the exception of the neo cons) are beginning to realize that despite (or maybe in spite of???) electoral success none of their objectives ever seem to be met.

1) Social conservatives: This goes without saying. We are closer to gay marriage and full frontal nudity on network primetime television than ever before, and not much closer to overturning Roe v. Wade.

2) Economic conservatives: Government is bigger, taxes are higher (if you include state and local!) etc

I will give you an example of what I mean. A few days ago in Spain, roughly 1.5 to 2 million socially conservative people protested the pro-gay marriage Socialist government (and other very socially liberal policies). Now I'm positive that the People's Party will use these voters in the upcoming elections. But if the PP takes power, will ANY of the socially liberal policies of the Socialists be overturned?

Maybe here and there on the margins (like in the US when the GOP takes over the gag rule on abortion is enforced, when Dems the opposite), but largely the Socialist policies will stay in place.

Conservatives never overturn liberal victories.

It is a fact.
