This may be my last post in 2007. As always with Eunomia, you can never be sure that a blogging hiatus will, in fact, be a hiatus, but I do intend to keep it to a minimum. Tomorrow I begin my trek home for Christmas, and I probably won’t be checking in while on break. This is what the blog-as-pastime has become: something from which sane people must take extended vacations. Ilyen az elet. Merry Christmas to you all, and Happy New Year! S Rozhdestvom i S Novim Godom!

Hiatus: I can’t define it, but I’ll know it when I see it.
Hiatus? We don’ need no stinkin’ hiatus!

You, taking a break? I put that in the same category as “We’ve turned the corner” or “Mission Accomplished” ;)

What’s the line on Daniel sticking to this? 3:1 against?

Roach: Actually, the three days so far are probably the longest hiatus yet. Apparently he has gained new willpower.

Or there’s no WiFi where he languishes.

Or he was driving from Chicago to New Mexico over several days as well. I bet he recovers in the next day or so and lets it rip.

Undoubtedly. Time named Vladimir Putin man of the year and all of the usual suspects are crying bloody murder. I’d be shocked if we didn’t hear from him before the new year.

Pathetic. We’re like a bunch of old drunks, waiting for the saloon to open.

Daniel, you could resume blogging right here in the comments section while still technically keeping this as the last post of the year. Just a thought.

Okay. Enough is enough. You’ve made your point, Daniel. Now come on back.

Not to worry - I spoke with Dan yesterday afternoon. This being the longest break he had taken, I was concerned that he had been run off the road somewhere in Kansas, or found something more productive to do with his time, like watercolors, macrame, or dating. But he is alive and well at home, enjoying a well-deserved blogging break, and looking forward to the results of Iowa.

I hope he hurries back. The Podhoretzes and Hewitt are stalking me.
