					<description>Both parties are always going to be a couple of inches either side of the median voter on most issues (especially when you're also talking about what can substantively get through two houses of congress and the courts).  

To complain that the GOP hasn't done much for Christian conservatives on social issues is like complaining that it hasn't privatized social security for economic conservatives.  It's done as much as it could get away with, electorally, and was allowed to do politically.</description>
