					<description>From Gilchrist's point of view, Huckabee's on the same side in the Culture Wars. And Huckabee is willing at least to give lip service to his views on immigration.  I don't mean to argue that there is no conceivable justifiable rationale for restricting immigration, but it might be that for a non-negligible number of activists and primary voters, the policy issues take a back seat to simple identity politics.

Giuliani disagrees with Republicans on many issues, and is running entirely on an "us vs. them" platform.  That seems to be enough to make a pretty serious run for the presidency.  (I've said all along that he has zero chance to win the primary, and have predicted that Huckabee would win.  We shall see).  

I lean Democratic, so take this with a grain of salt.  I could be guilty of assuming the worst.  I don't have a well-defined view on immigration, FWIW.</description>
