Reminds me of the story told by E.B. Sledge in his book "China Marine":  After World War II, U.S. Marines in North China to disarm the Japanese would commonly use the expression "gung ho!"  (Rumor has it that the expression is still not unknown in the USMC.)  What they didn't realize is that this expression, which comes from the Chinese and means roughly "work together," was at the time a slogan used by, and associated with, the Eighth Route Army (i.e., the Chinese Communists).</description>
